Day 13 of 99 Success Moves Every Woman Should Take Blogging Challenge
My blogging journey continues. With 77 days to go I pray God will give me more and more insight into the success moves we should take to live a better life in Christ Jesus. With writing my book, I think I found the most important component of its production was the cover. I have researched and heard different experts talk about how the cover must create for the reader and idea of what it would be like to read the book. I myself have in my possession some awesome books when you get into them, but the covers, for a lack of better word, can use some serious graphic overhauls. With that being said, I found myself in an interesting situation. In trying to conduct a business transaction I had to contact what we call in the business world, ‘gatekeepers.’ Now gatekeepers are supposed to be and exemplify the experience (a positive one) of the organization that they represent. This gatekeeper/book cover, I am sorry to say was not someone I would want to talk to again should I approach the organization to do further business.
They were not genuine, they were not kind and really did show me that they were excited, passionate are even interested in doing business with me. I decided to circumvent the process just a bit (I do believe we have to have a process) and go straight to owner of the organization. I did this for no other motive but to test the spirit of the organization. Was this the culture of the organization in its entirety? Or did I have a gatekeeper who unfortunately lacked the training and leadership abilities to represent this organization in excellence?
Before you make a decision, I suggest you do like I did and go to the source. Verify, verify, verify. Do not let one bad experience with one individual stop you from a possible opportunity that if you stop there you would have missed.
So my success move # 13 is:
Test the spirit. Never judge a book by its gatekeeper/book cover.

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.
