How to Stay Ready When Your Expectations about Success are Low?

Success1I heard an exciting conversation between a son and his father about an exciting basketball play.  These type conversations I usually turn my ears off to until I heard this profound statement.  “You don’t have to be expecting it but you have to always be ready.” Immediately I begin to think how difficult it can become in holding on to a dream when things seem to not be going in the direction that you had planned for.  Your expectations are high in the beginning but as you go further in your process your expectations meter starts to creep to lower depths.  I wanted today to encourage those women who have a vision, who are working on the vision, who have created a process, and are in the process and are getting a a little weary.  Your expectations about your success outcomes may have lowered but through it all you still have to be ready for what ever happens on your journey.

Preparation is something that I find is the most important element that a woman must embrace in her success journey.  Preparation is an ongoing activity.  You should always be doing something to prepare yourself for the next level.  You never know at what stage in your process that the atmosphere will shift you to the next dimension of success.  You have to be ready!  That readiness separates the little girls from the women.

How?  How does a woman on her success journey stay ready in the midst of a trying process?

#1

Read. Read. Read.  Reading your bible, reading books in your industry all of it keeps you mentally ready.  It keeps you exposed to great ideas and opens the door of preparation.

#2

Pray. Pray. Pray.  Consistent prayer, I have found, allows me to stay the course no matter what.  It allows God to talk with me and if I am silent long enough God gives me information for my ‘What’s next moments.’

#3

Relax. Relax. Relax.  There are times when you need to just step away from your daily tasks.  Sit and bask and in the sun and simply clear your mind from the project and meditate on the things of God.  This provides an attitude of gratitude about where you have come from and where God is taking you.

Reading, Praying and Relaxing are simple principles but powerful ones that we all have to make apart of our lifestyles.  Implementing these success principles will keep your mind creative, clear, and thankful as your pursue your life destiny.
